The holidays are the busiest (and most joyful!) time for crafters. Whether you’re making cards, scrapbooking memories, or whipping up handmade gifts, a little prep goes a long way. Use this checklist to make sure your craft room is ready for all your projects.
Declutter & Clean
☐ Clear your work surface and put away leftover supplies from past projects
☐ Sort through scraps and recycle what you won’t use
☐ Wipe down your table, tools, and machine surfaces
☐ Vacuum or sweep your craft room floor to start fresh
Organize Your Supplies
☐ Restock paper in key holiday colors (red, green, gold, silver, white)
☐ Gather embellishments: ribbons, sequins, stickers, washi tape
☐ Organize stamps, dies, and ink pads for easy access ☐ Make sure your adhesives (tape runners, glue dots) are ready to go
☐ Refill thread, bobbins, or yarn if you sew or knit
Prepare Your Tools
☐ Sharpen scissors and replace dull trimmer blades
☐ Clean and oil your die-cutting machine if needed
☐ Charge hot glue guns, cordless lights, or electronic cutters
☐ Test pens and markers — toss any that have dried out
Plan Your Projects
☐ Make a list of cards, gifts, and décor you want to create
☐ Sketch or save inspiration for your top projects
☐ Gather and group supplies for each project into bins or trays
☐ Block off crafting time on your calendar
Create a Cozy Space
☐ Add festive décor — a candle, mini tree, or twinkle lights
☐ Keep a cozy blanket or sweater nearby for long crafting sessions
☐ Set up a playlist or holiday movie queue for creative inspiration
