Got questions? We've got answers.
From cabinet specs to drawer compatibility, here are the answers to the most common questions our crafters ask. Search below or browse by topic.
Product questions.
What are the drawers made of?
The drawers are manufactured of injected, high-impact polypropylene plastic, making them very durable.
How much weight can the drawers hold?
All three sizes of drawers can hold up to 12 lbs of weight — making them a great storage solution for heavy metal punches, glass seed beads, and other crafting tools.
Will the drawers hold my 12" scrapbook paper?
No — the drawers taper slightly, which makes them too tight a fit for 12" scrapbook paper.
For paper storage, we recommend our Paper Shelves, which are designed to hold scrapbook paper at a slight angle for easy access.
Will the drawers pull completely out of the cabinet?
Yes — the drawers and rails are designed to be easily removed without resistance.
Will my stamps fit into the 1" drawers?
The 1" drawers fit any standard rubber-mounted stamp, and the 2" drawer allows them to be double-stacked. If you have Stampin' Up! stamps and want to keep them in their packages, they will fit into the 1" drawers.
Tip: To estimate how many of your stamps will fit in a drawer, lay them out on a 12" x 12" piece of paper. That will give you an idea of how many drawers to purchase.
Can I use these cabinets to store items other than craft supplies?
Of course! Our cabinets are great for organizing all kinds of household items, including:
- Lego, Barbie dolls and clothes, children's toys
- Doll clothes and baby clothes
- Bathroom items and paperwork
- Fishing tackle
- Nuts, bolts, and screws
- Jewelry and so much more
Will the color or dye lot vary on the wood products?
Yes, color and/or dye lot may vary. We make every effort to keep variations as minimal as possible, but this is a common occurrence — we receive product at different times and from different factories to ensure a regular supply.
Assembly questions.
Do the cabinets come put together?
No — once you receive your cabinet, you'll need to assemble it. The cabinets are assembled using a cam bolt and locking system. All you'll need is a #3 (large) Phillips head ("X") or slotted screwdriver to put your unit together.
What's the best way to begin installing the drawers?
First, decide on the order of the drawers for your unit. Then, start at the bottom of the cabinet — place the very bottom drawer directly onto the base of your cabinet (this bottom drawer doesn't require a rail).
Once your bottom drawer is in place, insert the drawer rails for your next drawer in the holes above the bottom drawer. Insert your next drawer onto these rails. Continue in this fashion until your cabinet is complete.
I can't fit a rail in the cabinet for the bottom drawer — what am I doing wrong?
You're not doing anything wrong — the bottom drawer doesn't require a rail. It places directly onto the bottom of the cabinet.
If you'd like a drawer stop for the bottom drawer, you'll need to cut the rails provided so you're left with just the side piece (the one with the drawer stop/knobs). Then glue these pieces to the sides of your cabinet at the bottom.

How do I determine how many drawers to order?
Each cabinet has a specific number of slots to fill with drawers or shelves. Use our Cabinet Designer to plan your storage unit visually.
Cabinet sizes:
- Single Mini — 18 spaces to fill
- Double Mini — 36 spaces to fill
- Triple Large Unit — 90 spaces to fill (30 spaces per section)
- Cube — 10 spaces to fill
How drawers and shelves use slots:
- 1" Drawer — uses 1 slot
- 2" Drawer — uses 2 slots
- 3.5" Drawer — uses 3 slots
- Paper Shelf — uses 1 slot
Note: When ordering paper shelves, leave 1 slot empty in each column. This allows the shelves to sit at a slight angle. A Single Mini with all paper shelves will hold 17, not 18.
How do I choose the right combination for my storage needs?
Our system is designed to be modular — so you can pick the combination that best suits your storage needs.
- 1" drawers — great for rubber-mounted stamps, small projects on the go, small tools, pens, punches, beads, and embellishments (use the 1" insert).
- 2" drawers — ideal for larger tools and punches, storage boxes, and bigger beads or embellishments (use the 2" insert).
- 3½" drawers — fit fat quarters, larger tools, yarn, books, and anything that won't fit in the 2" drawer.
- Paper shelves — designed to hold approximately 50 sheets of cardstock. They're stationary (they don't slide).
- 1" and 2" inserts — perfect for separating and organizing smaller items like beads, findings, eyelets, brads, ribbon, and charms.
