Measure the wall (or space) where the desk will live, then leave at least a few feet for walking and a chair. The 4 ft is great for compact corners. The 5 ft works in most craft rooms with room to add storage cabinets nearby. The 8 ft and 10 ft are designed for full studios — they give you a long, uninterrupted worksurface and three storage bases. Not sure? Pick the height that matches the seating you'll use most. Desk height pairs with a standard chair — best if you'll sit for long sessions. Counter height pairs with a counter stool — great if you like to alternate sitting and standing. Bar height pairs with a bar stool — ideal if you mostly stand or want easier access for tall projects. All three pair seamlessly with BCO Storage Cabinets and the Craft Island, so your whole craft room can match.

The 4 ft desk has one Storage Cabinet Base under the worksurface, with open knee space on the other side. You'll choose which side the base goes on. Pick the side that fits your room layout and how you like to sit at the desk — most people put the base on their non-dominant side so their work hand has open space.

Yes. Drawers, paper shelves, and adjustable shelves slide in and out of any open slot, so you can add or change inserts as your supplies change. You can also reconfigure the layout — move shelves around, swap drawers for paper shelves, or expand later by adding BCO Storage Cabinets that match your desk's height.

No — drawers taper slightly which makes them too tight for 12" paper. For paper storage, use our Paper Shelves instead — they're designed specifically for slanted 12×12 access.

Sturdy enough for die cutters, embossing machines, presses, sewing machines, and project mats. The 1/8" laminate top resists scratching, marring, and stains. The 3/4" thermofused melamine cabinet bases give the tabletop solid support across its full length — no flex, no sag.

Most customers complete a 4 ft or 5 ft desk in about 60–90 minutes with a screwdriver. The 8 ft and 10 ft take a bit longer — plan on 2 hours and grab a friend to help with the longer panels. All hardware is included and holes are pre-drilled.

Yes. The Craft Desk uses the same modular system as BCO Storage Cabinets and the Craft Island. Pick the same height across pieces and they'll line up beautifully — and the same drawers, paper shelves, and adjustable shelves work in all of them, so you can move inserts around as your craft room grows.
