Product Overview

Manufactured in Hutchinson, MN

Your 12×12 paper, finally easy to grab.

BCO Paper Shelves give your cardstock, patterned paper, and specialty sheets a tidy home — angled for visibility, with front tabs and a center cutout that make every sheet easy to find. Drops right into your Storage Cabinet or Craft Island.

Angled for quick scanning.

Each shelf sits at a gentle angle so your sheets fan into view — no digging through stacks, no flipping pages back. Grab the color you need and get back to creating.

Front tabs and a center cutout.

Built-in tabs at the front keep paper from sliding forward when you pull the shelf out. The center cutout means your fingers always find the sheet — no fumbling, no bent corners.

Drops right into the system.

Designed to fit any BCO Storage Cabinet or Craft Island. Mix paper shelves with drawers in the same column, reconfigure as your supplies change, and add more shelves as your collection grows.

The first shelf takes 2 slots. Each one after takes just 1.

The top paper shelf needs a little extra room above so you can access the slanted surface. Every shelf you stack below it only takes 1 slot — so a tall stack of paper shelves uses way less space than you'd think.

1 2 3 4 5 6 7 access space (kept open) 2 slots 1 slot (each additional) SIDE VIEW — CABINET COLUMN Example shown: 1 paper-shelf stack uses 7 slots and holds 6 sheets of paper organization
1 Top shelf = 2 slots. One slot for the shelf, one for the access space above the slant.
2 Each additional shelf = 1 slot. Stack as many as you need — 5, 8, even 12 in a tall column.

Fits

Won't fit

  • Inside drawers (paper shelves don't go in drawers — they're a shelf-style insert)
  • Non-BCO cabinets (sized to our slot system)
  • Oversized paper (anything bigger than 12×12)
DIY upgrade from the blog

Make your paper shelves slide.

Add Drawer Rails (sold separately) and any paper shelf glides in and out like a drawer. Read the step-by-step on how to install them.

Common questions.

Why does the top shelf use 2 slots when the others only use 1?
Each paper shelf is angled, so the back of the shelf sits higher than the front. The top shelf needs an empty slot above it to make room for that angle and to give you finger room to grab the paper. Every shelf below the top one is supported by the angled shelf above, so they only need 1 slot each.
How many paper shelves can I fit in a column?
Take the total slot count of your column, subtract 1 (for the top-shelf access space), and you've got the number of paper shelves that fit. So a 7-slot column holds 6 paper shelves, a 10-slot column holds 9, and so on. Mix paper shelves with drawers in the same column if you want a combination — paper shelves don't have to fill the whole column.
Will 12×12 cardstock and patterned paper fit?
Yes — paper shelves are designed specifically for 12×12 paper. The inside dimensions are 12-1/4" wide × 13" deep, so standard cardstock and patterned paper sit flat with a tiny bit of room around them. Bonus: this is the size that doesn't fit in our drawers, so paper shelves are the right home for your scrapbook paper collection.
Can I make them slide out like drawers?
Yes! Add our Drawer Rails (sold separately) and any paper shelf glides smoothly in and out. We've put together a step-by-step guide on the blog walking through the install.
How are these different from older BCO paper shelves?
Our current paper shelves (released May 2023) are made from solid white, high-impact polypropylene. Earlier versions were translucent. The new finish is more durable and gives your craft room a cleaner, more polished look. The fit, dimensions, and slot use are unchanged — they work in the same cabinets and islands.
Will they stop my paper from sliding out?
Yes — there are built-in tabs at the front of each shelf that hold paper in place even when you pull the shelf out. The center cutout in the front lets your fingers slip under the stack to grab the sheet you want without bending the corners.
How do I clean them?
Just wipe down with a damp cloth and mild soap. The high-impact polypropylene resists most craft messes — paint, glue, ink — but always wipe spills as soon as you can to prevent staining.

Just started to use them. They seem like they will do the job though.

While these are very easy to install they don't work very well. They hook at the back, which is good as they don't fall out, but there isn't any way that I have found to pull them out to access the paper. If you have only one color per tray it is okay but if you have more than one color it is very difficult to access anything other than the top sheets.

This tray fits 12 x 12 paper perfectly. I was nervous about them being plastic but they are holding up quite well. Overall, happy with them.
